Can the Steamdeck address a monitor without the docking station, but still be used as a quasi-gamepad? Because then it would be interesting for a project of mine instead of a NUC.

Helpful answer
Yes, the Steam Deck can connect to a monitor without the docking station. You can connect it via a USB-C adapter to HDMI or DisplayPort. However, you will need a Bluetooth-enabled controller to use it as a gamepad, as the Steam Deck itself does not offer any connection options for peripherals when connected directly.

Your own buttons are automatically switched off as soon as a monitor is connected? If this is the case, it doesn't give me any advantages over a mini PC.
