Question about LG UltraWide 40WP95XP-W
Compared to the Apple MacBook display, it is significantly darker. Despite brightness at 100%. Even my very old Samsung S27A850D monitors are significantly brighter and comparable to the brightness of the MacBook. Working is therefore very tiring. Is there any advice on how this can be changed? Can you recommend another monitor? If it stays like this, I will have to return this LG. Thank you in advance.

I do not have the impression that the monitor is too dark, but operate it with sufficient brightness with setting 60% of 100%.
My settings with the Monitor OnScreen Settings
Quick settings:
- Brightness 60
- Automatic brightness Off
- Contrast 70
Picture:
- Picture mode User
- Image adjustment ->
- Brightness 60
- Automatic brightness Off
- Contrast 70
- Sharpness 50
- Super Resolution+ Off
- DFC Off
General:
- Smart Energy Saving High
- Deep Sleep Mode Off

Hello RonnyJ285. I also ordered this monitor and tested it on my Mac Mini M4 Pro. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bad buy. The brightness wasn't the problem for me, I wasn't satisfied with the missing pixels. There are certainly solutions via Better Display etc., but 5K remains 5K and that's what Macs are designed for. Means biting the bullet (Apple) and finding an alternative to a 17" ASD. I'm currently wavering between the ASUS and the BENQ. And the 40" didn't convince me either, I'm not a gamer. Maybe it's something else. I felt like a tennis referee, head to the left, head to the right. But that's certainly a matter of taste. If you're not 100% satisfied, there are certainly better solutions for your use case.
