Does anyone have experience with transmission ranges between laptop and Yamaha WXAD-10 to a JBL Xtreme 2 ? We want to transmit about 20m from the laptop.

I don't see a problem, provided you use Wi-Fi. I have the box in my living room and I stream audio from my office next to it. There is a load-bearing wall in between. However, via WLAN. Bluetooth probably won't work over 20m.
