The software is now mature by today's standards and updates even come monthly - so something is happening.

I had exactly the same problem at the beginning. Bass much too loud. In general, I had problems with the volume, which was much too loud.
I think I was able to solve the problems in the settings. But I'm no longer sure. The sound and its quality are certainly good, but you have to adjust the sound.
