The flash unit does not fit on the Canon EOS 70D as it was developed for Canon cameras with the new multifunction accessory shoe. However, the EOS 70D has the older standard accessory shoe, which is why the Speedlite EL-10 cannot be mounted or used. This flash unit is only compatible with newer Canon EOS cameras that have the multifunctional hot shoe, such as the EOS R series.
