Question about Garmin fenix 6 Pro
Does the watch have a barometric altimeter? I miss that a bit with my Forerunner, even if reading the altitude from the map material usually works well.

Yes, it is in, but it has to recalibrate itself regularly. Garmin has improved the timing somewhat in one of the latest firmwares. I can't say too much about the accuracy, if I only work with map/GPS then the delta is always lower than if I use the built-in altimeter. But it actually makes sense, because the maps probably don't have such a precise resolution.
