Does this adapter also work with other devices that are not from Apple? For example, Dell XPS 15 or HP Elitebook?

Helpful answer
The connections (USB-C to (VGA, USB 3.1, USB Type-C) are standardised. This means they are independent of the operating system. A USB-C port on a Mac must therefore correspond to a USB-C port on a Dell or HP. That is why these connections were "standardised".
