I won't comment on the HDMI version.

We tested it on two DELL and SAMSUNG 4k screens connected to an Intel NUC and a Linux Fedora 24 distribution.
The display worked in 4k BUT WITH A RESOLUTION AT 30 Hz MAXIMUM. This is what the manufacturer says.

We wanted a better refresh rate in 4k, so we chose this model, which is more bulky in terms of length:

LMP USB-C 3.1 zu HDMI 2.0 Kabel (HDMI, 180cm)

We tested this model with a SAMSUNG 4k display, the same Intel NUC and the same Linux Fedora 24 distribution:
It displays well in 4k but with a REFRESHMENT RATE OF 60 Hz. It is moreover indicated in the documentation of the manufacturer:
