For an alarm clock, precision is everything. But from what I read, they have finally included a 2(!!) ringtone in the 2 Gen. But it still lacks radio reception. Unusable, for the price.

Quite apart from the fact that the built-in FM radio is anything but up-to-date and makes at least the radio part unusable in 6 years, as the analogue radio signal is switched off. Philips has probably made economic considerations first and foremost. First they will cash in with the current models, then at some point they will bring out a model with a radio clock and FM radio, in order to finally switch to DAB shortly before the end of the FM signal. Better to cash in three times than only once. We understand. The special offer price is tempting at the official list price, but I wouldn't pay more than 70 francs for it because of the radio and the foreseeable obsolescence, especially since the speaker itself is only mono and probably makes more noise than sound.

I have the predecessor and I don't want to miss this alarm clock any more. The brightness increases within 30 minutes and then I wake up to the sound of nature. I have never overslept with this alarm clock! Most of the time I am awake from the light before the alarm tone goes off and this is very relaxed.

What is really annoying for such a high price:
- no backup battery (in case of power failure, the clock has to be reset)
- No radio clock (summer and winter time have to be changed manually)
- FM radio in DAB+ times

You can wake yourself up with sounds, I have the predecessor and never need the radio, because the same thing comes up and down all day anyway. If it did, it would have to have an internet connection where you can wake yourself up with spotify, for example. the touch reacts badly on ours, but it's true that they could have built in more technology for the price.
