Good day I currently have a Brother MFC-L8650CDW and need to replace it due to a hardware defect. With my old printer I used, among other things, the text (OCR) function from the "Control Center 4". Does the MFC-L8690CDW also have this functionality?

Yes, the Control Center 4 software is available on the CD and is installed on the (Windows) PC during the complete installation.
