According to the HP page, the HP Elite Book 850 G6 has a Thunderbolt port (USB-C with a small lightning bolt), so the device should work with the docking station. By chance, the HP page also suggests a bundle of the notebook with the G2 docking station. So the chance should be very high that the two will work together.

Personally, I use the docking station with various notebooks from different manufacturers, and it works perfectly every time. Ultra-Wide and Multi-Display are also supported flawlessly.
