Practical yes but with a few things to remember. Firstly, the PS haptic games on PC will 99% of the time not recognise the edge (as dualsense) so unfortunately you would need a normal dualsense anyway...I usually always use the edge with gyro + extra buttons + custom adaptive triggers and haptics. You can overwrite hardware profiles with a website or with dsx. Otherwise you can always set everything with software like steam input, dsx, ds4windows etc. Haptics still only work when wired. Rumble and triggers also work wirelessly (depending on the game). For questions you can write me directly on steam (rogermorse)

I think the controller is great. I only use this one for my PS5. There was already an update. I don't know what it looks like on the PC. The buttons all work.
