According to the manual:
Due to risk of fire or explosion, never attempt to charge primary cells such as alkaline, zinc-carbon, lithium, CR123A, CR2, or any other unsupported chemistry!

-> Can I discharge non-rechargeable batteries like alkaline or lithium primary cells?
- Primary cells often have no official capacity at all, but yes you could compare the discharge capacities of primary cells of different makes.
Use BATT TYPE NiMH with the D.REDUCE option for discharging alkaline, and BATT TYPE LiFE for discharging primary lithium batteries.

No. Normal alkaline batteries are not rechargeable. Even if this device is a little special, it does not make a miracle with NiCd or NiMh.
