4 pieces quite free-standing in a luminaire, no noise. (but also not dimmed!)

Hello. I have one of these and haven't encountered the problem you mention (hums, booms, etc). Hope that helps. I don't use it in a dimmer lamp. I have used it for several months.

Hello, I've had one of these for a year now but I've had no problems as you describe, it works very well.
