Hello! I am quite satisfied with the Canon PIXMA TS5351i printer (see my BW as Martin52), but now I have the following question: I ONLY print in black and white and have also selected the corresponding setting. Nevertheless, the basic colour cartridge is now almost empty, although I have NEVER printed in colour (not even logos, etc.) As you know, "a little" ink is always used for cleaning during initialisation......obviously also coloured ink. QUESTION: WOULD MY PIXMA PRINT BLACK AND WHITE EVEN WITHOUT COLOUR INK (or an empty cartridge)? Your answer would be very important to me: I used to have an HP printer that could do this, as well as an older CANON that could NOT do this (refused to print when the b/w cartridge was half full) WHAT WOULD MY CURRENT CANON DO?
