Hello Together Can I use this docking station to start my Lenovo E570 laptop with the screen closed under the table?
That's exactly what I can do with my T14. I have it in a vertical laptop stand on the table and to switch it on I only have to press the button on the docking station. It works without any problems.
For your laptop, two problems that need to be clarified:
- What kind of power supply does your laptop have? If it is a 65 watt power supply unit, then everything is OK. There is a matching 90W power supply for the docking station (it MUST have significantly more power!). If it's 100W, follow Lenovo's advice: "An optional Slim Tip 135W power supply is required for 100W charging (PN: 4X20E50558 (US)/4X20E505xx)." --> https://www.lenovo.com/ch...
- Your laptop doesn't show up in Lenovo's compatibility list --> https://smartfind.lenovo.com/accessorie.... Personally, though, I actually have a hard time assuming that it will work anyway (basically, it's a universal adapter that shouldn't just go for Lenovo). It is certainly worth a try.
The device costs quite a bit more than other adapters like Satechi. But it's very robust and definitely won't cause any trouble. If it works, it is certainly a professional solution and everything else is just tinkering.
Short answer,
Yes, it works even if you have to plug it in every 100 times in between (depending on the driver version).
