Hello Together Is it possible for my second device (without usb type c) to also operate with the corresponding type a cable on type c? Do I need a special cable for this or is it possible with any usb c/a cable? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hello,

No, it is not possible to use this docking station if the laptop does not have USB-C (that supports DP Alternate Mode) or Thunderbolt3 ports - video outputs would not work. If you would connect the docking station to USB-A (USB 3.0) port via USB-C to USB-A cable/adapter, only USB, LAN, and audio would work.


But you could buy a graphical adapter to USB-A (USB 3.0) port and that you could connect to the docking station (or directly to laptop). And you could connect the docking station to the older laptop with USB-C to USB-A cable/adapter.
