Hello I need an A3 duplex capable laser printer and am therefore dealing with laser printers for the first time (previously only used inkjet printers). With the OKI C844dnw, it seems that toner and image drums have to be replaced separately. With the HP CP5225dn, there are no image drums in the accessories list. Does this mean that the HP toner and image drum form a single unit? With the OKI, there are still the transport belt and the heating unit, which obviously have to be replaced at some point. This is also not the case with the HP. Are there any other parts on the HP that need to be replaced apart from the toner cartridges? I am also interested in further information pro/contra HP or OKI. Thanks Peter
With the HP, the image drum and the toner are one unit, i.e. when the toner is empty, the image drum is also replaced. A big advantage of the HP: even if the machine indicates that the toner is empty, you can still continue printing until it is really empty, which can sometimes take a long time, you just have to watch the printouts to see if the colours are still correct. The Oki will then stop printing. I don't know if there are any other spare parts, but I have never needed any.
