Presumably, SHD8850 is not the successor model, as the other headphones have FM radio connection. However, they can certainly be used for the same purpose.

In the meantime, I'm giving up Philips SHD8850 altogether - and going back to cable.
The reason, as already mentioned: No differentiation possible between speech and ambience (this background sound simply much too dominant). It's also too annoying that the sound often cuts out, which you then have to turn up in order to hear anything at all again. But much too loud for me.
As an alternative, the price of the praised Sennheiser RS 195-U is too high for me. And of course it's no guarantee if you can't hear it yourself beforehand.
