The thread is the same that practically every camera has. The supplied ball head also has a removable thread adapter at the bottom. If you take this out, a thicker screw fits in.
I have mounted an Arca Swiss compatible quick-release plate and can thus place the light on my tripods, which otherwise also take a camera with a quick-release plate. If the tripod has a camera-compatible screw instead of a head with a quick-release plate, you mount the light with the screw, for example on a small table tripod.
