How do I connect this headset to the Xbox Series X? It just doesn't work for me, if I connect the headset via the jack on the controller, I can at least hear something, but the microphone doesn't work.

I suspect you bought the wrong "version". As I understand it, for an Xbox you absolutely need the
Arctis Nova 7X
[SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X (Wireless)](https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/steelseries-arctis-nova-7x-kabellos-gaming-headset-21890003)
and not the one without the "X"
