3G connection is free of charge everywhere, but works only for few websites: amazon, wikipedia for sure, maybe some others; it's not clearly stated from amazon in the product description (at least at the time when i bought it), and that's disappointing. So it doesn't work like the old Kindle DX (you had real unlimited internet access)
