I am a complete novice in photography. I assume this lens is suitable with the Sony Alpha 6000? I am looking for an all-round lens that I can use for portraits but also landscapes.

...a very good zoom as an "always-on" would be this one, for example: Sony E 16-70mm f4 ZA OSS Zeiss Vario-Tessar T*, E-mount

And yes, it is expensive... but good glass costs money (usually more than the camera), so you would have a zoom lens that offers you everything from wide-angle to slightly telephoto with a continuous light intensity of 4.

Do you already have lenses and if so which ones? Do you want to buy universal or specialised lenses? What is your budget?

Hello Alex,
yes - the lens fits the Alpha6000 (Sony E-mount). The focal length is sufficient for portraits, but for landscape photography I would rather go for a wide-angle lens... (of course, it always depends on what you want to do exactly!;-)
Keep in mind that it is a fixed focal length and NOT a zoom lens. Fixed focal lengths are usually of better quality and often faster than zoom lenses, but then you have to carry several lenses around with you. When travelling, a good zoom lens is often the better solution...
