I am planning to buy the C5 to use with the FB. My cable provider is Quickline and the old phone is connected to the Thomson THG571 modem. Does anyone use C5 + FB with Thomson modem?

Helpful answer

The FritzBox and the C5 don't really care which internet connection the devices are connected to, as long as there are the right connection options. It needs a FritzBox with a DECT base station (for the C5) and an external analogue telephone input, e.g. 7490.

The THG571 has an RJ11 connector for analogue phones, so the multiple cable that comes with the FritzBox must also be plugged into the Thomson modem in addition to the Ethernet cable from the FritzBox's LAN1. Look for the correct sockets, adapters and cable ends: Just because a cable fits into a socket does not mean that a connection will be made. The telephone end of the multiple cable of the FritzBox is primarily intended for ISDN connection, so a small adapter is needed to bring the contacts on wires 1 and 8 to the middle two of the RJ11 plug.
