I bought a white A50x about a year ago and have now bought a second one in black. I have noticed that the black one has a switch on the charging cable from the docking station for what? On the white one I don't have the switch on the charging cable from the docking station.

This may not be helpful, but I also bought the black version a year ago and have just checked it. I have not detected a switch on any of the cables or the station itself.

I can't find anything in the operating instructions either.

Since the functionality of such a cable is limited, I assume that the switch is used to control either the data transmission or the power -> try it out

I also have it and have found out that it is simply a switch for the power supply when you switch it off the station gets no more power

Many thanks, yes I have done a bit of research, supposedly the new a50x are fitted with such a switch. I have no idea why.
