Question about Sonos Arc
I bought the Sonos ARC to replace the Playbar in my existing Sonos Homecinema (Playbar and 2x One SL, plus div Play:1 in other rooms). Mainly because I want to use Airplay2 for streaming via IPad. I use a beamer (Epson EH-TW6100) and a Blueray player (Panasonic DMP-BDT385, no Arc/eArc connection, only normal HDMI). Operating a TV is out of the question. I need Airplay2 because Disney+ and Sky are not available via Blueray player. When I wanted to put the Arc into operation, I couldn't configure it because it asked for a TV. Accordingly, all 8 other Sonos boxes in the house were no longer available. I realise I should have done better research.... Question: But before I return the Arc.... is there any way I can use the Arc via Blueray player (any?) and beamer? or is there any Sonos Playbar replacement so that I can use Airplay2 with the existing configuration? I would have assumed that the Arc can be connected to a Blu-ray player with SPDIF output using the included SPDIF to HDMI adapter. The player mentioned has the corresponding optical output. This means that only an optical cable (Toslink) may be required. Just try it out, without guarantee 😉
