Question about i-tec Nano Dock

I bought this i-tec Nano Dock in the hope that I would have to plug a single connector into the ASUS VivoBook and HDMI monitor, LAN network and UBS devices all at once. Unfortunately, a number of things don't work with this dock. HDMI monitor port is not recognised, USB connected DVD drive breaks during data transfer with message USB interrupted (could not write Windows boot image to DVD) had to connect the device directly to notebook and then it worked. Question, is this dock possibly defective or am I doing something else wrong? ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP412, connector is a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 x 1, monitor is an ASUS 27 inch HD. Monitor works when plugged directly into the notebook HDMI port.

3.2 would probably be better but 3.1 should work. Maybe you are missing drivers or your notebook does not support alternative display port mode via USB-C? The screen works fine for me (VGA and HDMI). I don't use a DVD drive, but I haven't had any USB interruption errors.

If that doesn't help, you might want to file a warranty claim.
