I don't have an AUX socket on my old bus. Is it possible to connect the device without it?

I'm not sure. Here is what I found in the description: Highway 400 works with your existing audio system using a simple AUX cable or by transmitting on an unused FM frequency. So if you have an FM radio it should work.
