I have a big problem: When I attach the film to my laptop (with the magnetic strips), my laptop (ThinkPad X13 Yoga) goes into tablet mode. This means that the keyboard no longer works. Does anyone know the problem and can help? I have tried everything. Tablet mode can no longer be switched off. So the slide is useless. Really disappointing
Thank you for your open feedback. We regret that you are having problems with our privacy filter. Please never cut the privacy filter to size. This impairs the function of the film. The privacy filter has been designed correctly so that you attach the magnets at the top and hang the privacy filter on them. I just looked at the laptop first and realised that the ThinkPad X13 Yoga model has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and not 16:10. The ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen. 2 has 16:10. If you have the first model, you have bought the wrong product and then of course the privacy filter will not fit your screen.
Here is an excerpt from the Internet: The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga has a display with a diagonal of 13.3 inches and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The trend in laptop displays is currently moving towards the longer 16:10 aspect ratio, which means smaller display frames below and above the screen and more space for documents. The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 2 is an example of a laptop with a longer 16:10 aspect ratio. Please check this first.
On your topic with the tablet mode: The ThinkPad X13 Yoga has a sensor system to automatically detect the device position. If a magnet or a change to the housing environment is registered (e.g. by attaching a magnetic accessory), the device sometimes interprets this as a folding movement or switching to tablet mode - especially for convertibles with a 360° hinge. In this mode, the keyboard is deactivated for safety reasons. Our magnetic DISPLEX privacy filters are universally compatible with many devices, but in rare cases, certain models - such as the X13 Yoga - may experience exactly this problem. We have two solutions for you: 1. change the positioning of the magnets: Please try to place the magnetic strips slightly offset e.g. closer to the centre of the screen and definitely at the top, not the bottom, to avoid the critical area of the sensors. 2. deactivate tablet mode: In Windows, automatic mode switching can be deactivated in the settings under "System > Tablet > Automatically switch to tablet mode on this device". Unfortunately, this is often controlled by the BIOS or sensor on convertibles such as the Yoga model. The effect can therefore not always be reliably suppressed. On the X13 Yoga, the Hall sensor is typically located in the area of the palm rest or below the keyboard, on the right or left side, depending on the generation. If an external magnet is attached in this area (e.g. through magnetic privacy filters), the system incorrectly interprets this as "lid closed" or "display folded down", which triggers tablet mode.
We hope this has helped you. Kind regards, Your DISPLEX Team.
