I have a maybe bit naive appearing question concerning the currently ongoing delivery shortages, but I am motivated to broaden my horizon in that matter ! Based on the assumption that a delivery-chain is filled with members that ar able to sign contracts and are able to comunicate ( what I do assume is normaly given ) ! How may it be, that it is apparently impossible to at least settle a date of delivery (which eventually may include a few weeks of security reserve or so ) !? If there would be a delivery date set (no matter when, but realistic ! ) at least, then people (clients) would have some planning security ! Thus clients would have the possibility to ponder whether it`s worth to wait, or beter buy another product ( which itself maybe in 3 months als isn`t available anymore). But when the site just lists delivery not possible-/delivery date not available it just appears to me as a layman, as if the dealer would make oneself a comfortable life on costs of the clients ! Especially as I know that dealers usually employ staff that are paid to do just exactly this kind of research and negotiating. So what is it, that makes it more difficult to predict a delivery date then to forecast the weather ?
