I have a slightly lighter box ("grey") in the top left corner, as if a dialogue box were hiding there. I just can't get rid of it. Does anyone know the problem and can solve it?

Switch off the option "Bright frame" in the menu item (in the monitor settings) "Image enhancement". A picture for the corresponding configuration: https://goo.gl/photos...

I have not noticed anything like this with either DVI-D or HDMI.

Can you see this when you start up your PC? So still at the BIOS/POST or possibly at the Windows loading screen?
