I have now ordered the Dell USB C to etc. for my XPS 15 9530. It doesn't fit - or how do I connect it?

Unlike the XPS 15 9550, the XPS 15 9530 unfortunately does not have a USB-C port. The small socket, which is the same width as a USB-C port, is a Mini Displayport.
To use the adapter anyway, a USB A to USB C adapter can be connected in between. The Ethernet function and the USB 3.0 port could work in this way, but I have my doubts about VGA and HDMI, because USB-C is very picky (Displaylink driver, didn't work on my new Asus notebook either).

This computer does not have USB C ports: USB C is the latest type of various USB ports, mainly installed on new MacBooks (year 2017)....
