I have two speakers where you can simply clamp open cable ends. Can I take a cable that looks like the one I need for this unit on both sides and then just cut and strip one end and clamp it into the speaker?

Attention, no speakers can be connected to this digital radio, it does not have a built-in amplifier for that. it would be connected to an external amplifier.

This unit is a little more expensive, but it also has a built-in amplifier where you can connect speakers directly. It also has DAB+:
