I just got one to connect on my iPad, but my iPad is NOT charging with it. Is that expected? This makes it totally unusable, since there is no other port through which I may charge my iPad.

The issue you're experiencing with your iPad not charging through the hub could be due to the hub's power delivery capabilities. While the hub supports USB-C connections, it may not provide enough power to charge your iPad effectively. Typically, iPads require a higher wattage to charge efficiently, especially if the hub is designed primarily for data transfer rather than power delivery. You might need to check if the hub supports Power Delivery (PD) and if it can supply enough power for your iPad model. If not, using a separate charger might be necessary.
