I received the Rode Lavalier Go as a gift. However, it doesn't work when I plug it into my iPhone with the iPhone adapter. Would it work if you had the RØDE SC4 TRS to TRRS?

Yes, exactly. This microphone has two rings on the plug = TRS. It is therefore suitable for connection to camcorders and digital cameras. For smartphones it needs TRRS, which is recognisable by 3 rings. The RØDE SC4 adapter is the matching transition piece.
