I use the Ronin with the Nikon D5600 and the Samyang F2.0 135 mm. The lens is 110g heavier than the camera, so it's top-heavy. Even if I move the camera all the way back. Is there another plate or rail so that I can move 5 mm more to the back? My current solution is to turn the rail so that the front part, which is supposed to face the object, comes to the back. This is the only way I can achieve balance. I am grateful for any suggestions
The Ronin is designed for a weight of up to 2 kg. The total load of the Nikon with the lens is therefore rather borderline. I can balance my Fujifilm XT4 with 18-135 mm zoom lens (weight 1.2 kg) just at the rear stop of the mounting plate. In my opinion, however, it makes little sense to use a gimbal with a fixed telephoto lens. Lenses in the wide-angle or 80 mm range make more sense. These lenses are correspondingly shorter and lighter. If the combination with the 135 mm lens is still to be used, then I would leave out the 'elevation plate' included by Ronin when mounting the camera (if this is not already the case anyway) and buy another mounting plate with counterweights. Just google: Ronin quick release plate with counterweights. I don't have any experience with this, but from what I've read it should solve the problem.
