I was very satisfied with the adapter until now. Very recently (probably since the latest update), however, the adapter no longer works with my iPhone. Accessories are not supported. Charging is still missing, but the audio signal no longer works. Has anyone had similar experiences?

For me, it still works without problems with the latest iOS version. Check whether the connector is really seated correctly in the iPhone. You may have dust in the Lightning connector. Furthermore, there are security settings in the iPhone that prevent accessories from working via the connection. You might want to check these.
