I would like to install an SSD (as described in the comments by a.a.a. or stephane_rappo, e.g. Samsung EVO), but as a newbie I have no idea which cables I need. Many thanks for the valuable tips in advance.

Exactly, cable included. However, plug it in carefully, it's all very tricky. I would also recommend upgrading the RAM.

no worries, cable is included. just order the SSD.
I would also strongly recommend upgrading the RAM. it's actually a cheek (imo) that the part is delivered with 4gb. it's only good for scrap :-/
otherwise cool part.
