If I mount this lens on my Sony A6000 which has an APS-C sensor, will I have the same focal length as if I mount the Sony 35mm 1.8 OSS for APS-C sensors on my camera? So with cropfactor something around 50mm? Thank you very much
It remains to mention that the aperture must also be multiplied by 1.5. F1.8 becomes F2.7 on an APSC.
Super. Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Greetings Dani
Yes, the focal length always remains at the value printed on the lens. In this case 35mm. Regardless of whether the lens was designed for APS-C or full format, the cropfactor of 1.5 takes effect on APS-C and the lens then has an angle of view on the APS-C camera like a 52.5mm lens on full format.
I personally find this lens sharper than the APS-C version, which is much older. But the APS-C version has a baton and this one doesn't. If you are planning to switch to full-frame in the near future, it is definitely worth buying full-frame lenses now.
