If I now pay these CHF 77, do I then have these programmes "for life"? or am I thereby committing myself to further payments?

It is a one-year licence. The amount is for the use of the product for one year. After that, licence fees are due again.

This rental version must be renewed annually = paid for, otherwise the programmes will stop working after the licence period has expired. In the case of purchased versions, the licence is valid for an unlimited period of time, but is also correspondingly more expensive.
