If I use this in my living room and the transmitter is in my fitness belt pouch will the signal be picked by the receiver even if I turn around multiple times?

Transmitter & receiver are quite powerful for this product. We tested them in the range 0-15m without any obstacle between them and performance was quite good. I do not know if there is a wall between them.
