Is it normal that I can only manage mono and only on the left of my two stereo speakers, which work perfectly with other devices?

It should not be the 3.5mm sound connection, which can be stereo. Possibly the driver settings of the sound card?
If you plug directly into the notebook and then stereo comes up, it's because of the docking.
