Is there a special sw that can be used to spice up the photo images?

Not directly. Abby FineRead for OCR is integrated via an API and is included. Kofax for various PDF management tasks is included. I do not know of any software that performs real-time processing in the sense of image editing, such as with PhotoShop, during scanning. In principle, providers of image processing software could use Fujitsu's API, but I do not see any corresponding references on the Fujitsu website.

No software is supplied with the scanner to enhance the images.
