Is this device compatible with the new Apple software or with 64 bit? Is it compatible with Mac at all?

The machine has limited usability under macOS. Brother has the problem that you can no longer scan via the Brother software under macOS. Printing works perfectly. Scanning is possible via the diversions "Control Panel / Printer / Scanner", but only to a limited extent. However, scanning via USB stick works again. In my opinion, however, this does not help, so I am currently looking around for another printer.
