Is this lens (50mm fixed focal length) on my Sony a5000(APS-C) a 75mm lens according to the description? Or what is meant by a "35mm equivalent"?

Yes, absolutely correct! The 50 mm lens corresponds to a focal length of 75 mm (crop factor 1.5) on the APS-C sensor of a Sony camera of the a5000 and a6000 series. This makes for quite a nice portrait lens. At open aperture (1.8) the lens produces a nice bokeh effect (those intentional blur effects in the image background). Certainly a good buy for the APS-C Sony cameras.
