My Sony XDR-S61D suddenly only works with batteries, as soon as I try to connect it to the power supply it switches off? No more starting, does anyone know the problem? Power supply is also ok, I have tried 2 others but it switches off with or without batteries. Can anyone help me solve the problem or the cause? It would be really great thank you very much for the quick answer.

As already written in a sub-comment, I suddenly had the same problem.
Today I took the trouble to unscrew the device and analyse the problem in more detail. Found the fault relatively quickly and successfully fixed it using a soldering iron and a short piece of wire. Brief instructions: Unscrew and remove the cover (every corner, under the antenna and in the battery compartment. Locate the yellow socket from the power connection on the small board. The lower solder joint (against the grey ribbon cable) should have a connection to the "DC_IN" solder joint via a conductor track. This was not the case for me, even re-soldering the two soldering points (possibly a cold soldering point) was unsuccessful. I connected the two soldering points with a wire and the device is now running again via the power supply unit.

The way you describe it, it sounds like the power slot on the radio itself is faulty.... This can typically happen due to frequent unplugging and plugging in......
