Hi. You only have one HDMI port, but 2 DisplayPorts (but you can only connect 2 screens, so either 1x HDMI and one DisplayPort or 2 x DisplayPort); USB you have 4 ports (but not all supply voltage). I can't say if it works with the Surface because I don't have any experience, Macbook works, but the same thing is displayed on both monitors because Apple apparently doesn't support a protocol that is needed (says the I-Net and I really couldn't get it to work).
