I doubt that the information from Microsoft is correct. The [Microsoft Surface Type Cover Pro, Black (Surface Pro 3/Pro 4, QWERTY)](https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/microsoft-surface-type-cover-pro-schwarz-surface-pro-3pro-4-qwertz-tablet-tastatur-7027553) also weighs only 310g and the two Type Covers are not that different.
