I have 2 laptops connected to my monitor at the same time and switch from one laptop to the other using the 'input source' button at the bottom right. I don't use KVM, but it works for me.

i have connected my laptops as follows and have the following usb settings on the monitor:
a) laptop 1: connected with USB-C to USB-C (standard 4 / 20 Gbps) at the bottom left of the monitor at the 'USB C1' port
b) laptop 2: with USB-C to DP (Display Port / new standard of the cable) laptop connected to USB-C and to the 'Display Port input' at the bottom left of the monitor
c) my USB settings on the monitor are: USB-C Setting: High Resolution / USB Stb Mode: On / KVM: Auto)

It is important a) to connect via USB-C & DP if possible and b) to use the latest cable standards
With my setting: if both laptops are on/active and I put one in sleep mode, the other automatically displays on the monitor.
