Question about Microsoft Office Home 2024
Purchased MS Office 2024 (for MacBook Pro) but after installation and opening any of its apps, they all continue to only show the error: License storage unable to connect to the licensing helper. Despite uninstalling old MS Office first and following instructions to install/run the MS Office License Removal and then reinstalling MS Office 2024, the error message “unable to connect” continues, or when trying to activate, an error saying I don’t have the license for MS 365 — it somehow insists I need MS 365… How can I proceed?

What worked:
Make sure there’s no MS Teams running/installed (this automatically associates you having the MS 365 license key). With MS Teams, it will not recognize/link/activate the license key for MS Office 2024.

After several hours trying to fix the issues (no license key found, unable to connect, can’t activate, read only mode, etc.), the culprit was in fact MS Teams.
